Top Hair Trends for Spring 2014

February 2018January 2018September 2017July 2017

Fresh hair inspiration for the new season.

The Spring sunshine is finally here, and updating your look for the new season isn’t just about what’s hanging in your wardrobe. Changing up your hair cut, colour or style is the easiest way to transform and freshen up your look.  We’ve put together a list of our most loved hair trends for Spring 2014 to get you inspired to make a change.

COLOUR

Mocha Blonde:  This colour goes from cool mocha at the roots, blending subtly into a sunkissed blonde.  It’s all about gentle ombre this season, creating multi-tonal locks that look glowing and natural.

Bronde:  Tipped to be the biggest colour trend this season, Bronde is a fusion between blonde and brunette that captures the best of both worlds. This colour is best suited to warmer, darker skin tones and goes perfectly with a beachy summer glow.  It’s flattering and creates an illuminated, sunkissed look that captures the essence  of summer.

Red Ombre:  If pink is a little too playful for you, try red as a statement hue – it’s bold, feminine and a little bit edgy.  Red Ombre can be worn either light or bright, with the new L’Oreal INOA Carmilane red shades fully customisable to achieve the desired look.

Pink Splash Light:  As playful colours remain on trend for Summer 2015, try a splash of pink blended through the underneath layers of your hair.  More daring colour like this doesn’t have to be permanent either – opt for L’Oreal hairchalk for non-transferrable colour that will be gone in 3-4 washes.

CUT

Blunt Bob:  The bob is this year’s ‘it’ style, and the key to keeping it current this season is to keep the edges blunt.  Blunt edges don’t have to be harsh – try adding messy texture and volume with a product such as the Kerastase Volume In Powder.

The Pixie:  From the sweet and neat to the textured and edgy, we’re seeing more ladies go for the chop and rock the pixie cut.  We love how the perfect pixie cut is so effortless to style.

Fringes:  Short and bold or longer and softer, if you want to change up your look this season without losing length, adding a fringe is a great option.

Soft and Sweet:  If you are after a more soft and feminine look for Spring, add subtle layers to your haircut for texture and movement.

STYLE

Long & Straight:  Long haired ladies, take a break from waves and enjoy sleek locks for spring. This look is easy to achieve with a good heat protectant (we recommend Kerastase Soleil), a flat iron and a quick mist of shine spray.  If your long locks are unruly or you struggle with taming frizz, try the new Kerastase Discipline collection – it will keep your hair manageable and looking sleek all day.

The Textured Bob:  Don’t be afraid to add texture to your bob! We love this look on celebs Lara Bingle, Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Hough.  Use a texturising spray such as Kerastase Spray-a-Porter or opt for a styling powder – we love the Shu Uemura Volume Maker brush, which fits perfectly in your handbag for maintaining your style during the day.

Braids, Braids, Braids:  They have been on the runways and red carpets for the past few seasons, but braids are still as big as ever.  Braided updos are beautiful for the warmer months; not only do they look chic, but they keep your hair up and off your neck.

Dip Dye Ponytail:  Add some colour to your ponytail using L’Oreal hairchalk – you can change up the colour to suit your mood and outfit, and don’t have to commit to long term colour!
