Meet Editor Of Perth Style, Jordana Ripp

February 2018January 2018

Find out what makes Jordana the best she can be.

We chat to Jordana Ripp, who is the lovely lady behind the blog PerthStyle about what makes her the best she can be.

Here’s what she had to say:

With a career in Marketing and my active involvement in Perth Style, my workday starts at 6:30am and often doesn’t finish until 10-11pm at night. Finding time to maintain the best version of myself can be tricky and I will admit to more frequently than not, falling off the bandwagon and running myself a little ragged. During those periods I always find the perfect quick fix is a trip to Maurice Meade to get my hair done, even if it’s just a quick blow dry. Who wouldn’t feel amazing having just indulged in a massage, treatment and head full of fresh locks!

Apart from amazing hair, the best I can be involves copious lemons, entertaining exercise, clarifying wellbeing, a clean diet and strong friendships:

1.) Lemons
Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve always been fan having horrified many by eating them whole as a kid. Now at an age where I’m far more conscious of what I’m putting in my body, I found that a daily dose of lemon mixed in a litre of water helped reset my system each morning ready for the day ahead. Not only is it a great source of Vitamin C, it’s a powerful antibacterial, antiviral and immune booster for those winter months when you need to power through.

2.) Entertaining Exercise
I spent the vast majority of my school years training in a diving pool. Exercise to me was somersaults on trampolines, twisting in harnesses and flipping into foam pits. When my sporting career ended I found keeping in shape somewhat of a boring task and upon reflection realised I was spoilt with the activities I carried out in the past to keep in shape. I now make sure I’m engaged not only in body but mind when I work out. My favorite activities tend to be a bit different from your standard such as dance classes, boxing and barre, however I do enjoy a good walk/run with my dog to a pumping soundtrack.

3.) Clarifying Wellbeing
Yoga. For me this is a total mind/body transformation, a chance to quiet the world and find an hour of peace in my hectic day. I feel completely rejuvenated and with total clarity by the time I’ve rolled up my mat and found my shoes amongst the pile at the door.

4.) Clean Diet
Over the years I’ve tried all sorts of fad diets, however the only success I’ve had in feeling and looking great has been with organic clean eating. It’s not always possible to eat completely organic but I try as much as possible and when I do I feel amazingly light and energetic.

5.) Strong Friendship and Family
The most important part of being the best I can be is having strong friendships and family around me. I’m blessed with some beautiful people in my life that can laugh with me through the good times and be a rock in the bad. Everyday I’m brighter and better for having them in my life and it shows in everything I do.
